Sept 4

The CBMS staff is full prepped and geared up to begin school in the Post-Irene era.  While the CBMS physical plant went untouched through the storm, we fully realize that many of our students and staff have been directly and indirectly affected by the waters, winds, and subsequent damage from Irene.  On a simple note, if your child had school supplies washed away in the flood, we will have supplies on hand this coming week to get your child prepared for learning.  On a more complex note, we realize that there will be some emotional baggage as a result of Irene, and we will keep an eye on your child as far as his/her availability for learning.  A good parent resource for dialoguing with children can be found at
http://nctsn.org/sites/default/files/assets/pdfs/parents_guidelines_talk_children_hurricanes.pdf
If you want us to know anything specific about your child as it relates to the beginning of school, please do not hesitate to be in touch with the most appropriate staff member.  The Waterbury-Duxbury community has truly rallied around Irene, and the CBMS community will continue that rally of support with the onset of school this week and in the weeks to come.  COUGARS!

New E-mail Addresses for CBMS staff- The extension on our e-mail addresses is now "@wdsdvt.net" instead of "@wdsdvt.org"  The first part is the same (for example, Tom Drake is tdrake@wdsdvt.net)
