Cougars Compost! Education on how and why to compost happened in classrooms last week, and we will be leaping into the world of composting in the Cougar Cafe beginning this week! Parent/Guardian Workshop: Substance Use & Middle Schoolers. Please come join our SAP Counselors Amanda Cannamela and Mara Urban to learn more about reasons that middle schools may use drugs or alcohol, signs that they are using, what adults can do, and other questions you may have. This workshop will be this Thursday January 26th from 6:00-7:00pm at the CBMS library. Hot Off The Presses! The Winners Are In! Vermont Public Television's "Above the Fold Contest" challenged Vermont middle schoolers to write and produce their own newspaper. Focused on the week of Nov. 7, 2011, Vermont sixth, seventh and eight grade students produced short-form newspapers highlighting news in their schools and communities. Mr. B's 8th grade Language Arts class submitted an entry for this contest, and their entry won! Check out all the details by clicking here.
Green Mountain Performing Arts (formerly One Studio Dance) has opened its new location at 37 Commercial Drive in Waterbury (behind Juniper's Fare Restaurant). GMPA is a nonprofit school dedicated to providing outstanding dance and performing arts education in a non-competitive and supportive environment.
