June 6

Cougar Kudos to Lincoln Pierce, who earned 1st prize in the "Google SketchUp Design Challenge" for the 3rd year running!  Lincoln won for his design (above) of a "Flood Proof Library / Municipal Office Complex"!  In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene and its impact on our local communities, this year’s VDTEA (Vermont Design and Technology Education Assoc.)  challenge focused on Community Service.  Students were asked to identify a community need, and using SketchUp,  propose a solution.  The final projects were judged by the instructors at Green Mountain Technology and Career Center.  Lincoln received $100 and a first place plaque for his efforts!

8th Grade Exit Survey- We are looking for feedback from 8th graders as to their CBMS experience.  The link can be found from the CBMS Homepage.

Lost and Found will be going away on June 21st.  Do make a point of checking it over the next two weeks!

On June 16, Green Mountain Performing Arts will present “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” at Harwood Union High School.  The show will feature students from GMPA’s Musical theatre program, in this classic Disney musical.  Over 40 students help to bring this story to life, ranging in age from 7 to14.  They have been rehearsing since September for this final performance.  All proceeds from the show will go to the Taber Merchant Memorial Scholarship fund.  Taber Merchant, a student at GMPA, passed away last year at 11 years old.  This fund provides need-based scholarships for any class offered at GMPA.  The show is directed by Scott Weigand, with choreography by Brandy Hines, and musical direction by Stefanie Weigand.  The show will be at 1pm. Tickets are $8 and are available at the door, all seating is general admission.
