Dec 5

Tomorrow Night!  PTO INTERNET SAFETY NIGHT FOR PARENTS  As our children transition into the Middle School years they are more active on the Internet.  Whether it be researching information for school, participating in fantasy sports games, or participating on social networking sites, our children are becoming more and more familiar with the world outside our communities.  As parents we have concerns on how to protect our children from the dangers that are ever present right at their finger tips.  During this workshop, Troy Morton a parent of a CBMS 5th grader and an IT profession will provide parents with tips on:
  • White-listing "safe" sites
  • How to black-list "unsafe" sites
  • Provide info on kid friendly sites
  • Discuss cyber-bullying and tactics to monitor and report on abusive e-mail/chat sessions
After the presentation there will be time for questions.  Don't miss this workshop, it's something every parent should attend!
