The School Board of Directors has approved the search process for the recruitment and selection of a new principal at Thatcher Brook Primary School for the term to begin July 1, 2013. The search committee process will be led by Brigid Scheffert, Superintendent of schools. Twelve committee members will participate and guide a comprehensive and transparent process that will involve considerable community input. The committee of 12 is in need of 4 Waterbury-Duxbury community members. The commitment involves approximately 36 hours over a three month period. Most committee meetings, including interviews begin at 3:15. If site visits occur, travel and all day commitments may be needed. At least two evening events are being considered. The tentative schedule involves the following possible dates: Jan. 25; Feb. 5,8,15 and 28; Mar. 8,11,12, 15, 18, 28, 29; and April 9. These dates may not all be needed and are subject to change slightly. It is essential to the work of the committee that participants are present at all meetings.

If you are an interested and available community member in Waterbury or Duxbury please submit a few written paragraphs outlining your background and the reasons you are interested in participating to Brigid Scheffert, Superintendent of Schools at bscheffert@wwsu.org

  1. Please consider bringing back "Mr. B" for principal. I think he is a great member of the community and with his experience would be an ideal and excellent candidate for the job.
