    8th Grade Recognition Assembly this Monday, beginning at 9:30AM in the gym.  Parents are invited and welcome!

      Last Day CBMS Field Trip/Pawsitivity Celebration - 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students will be leaving school Tuesday morning between 8 and 8:30 to travel via school bus or walking with their A.G. to the Waterbury Pool.  There we have lots of activities planned to celebrate respectful, positive choices and the LOADS of learning we did this school year.  Students will need:  Backpack, bathing suit, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, extra dry clothes, and shoes appropriate for walking/playing games.  Dismissal from CBMS begins at 12:05.

      6th and 7th Grade Parents- if you have not given us your choice for French/No French for next year, please do so by Wednesday morning by clicking here.  

      Good-bye and Thank You to the following CBMS staff members who will be departing us after this week- Patty Carroll, Mollie Falk, Mark Grimes, Roger Grow, Tyler LaRock, Rachel O'Donald, Hayley Quinones, and Ed Spaulding.  You all will be missed!

      Alex Houston is rallying a design/build on an outdoor labyrinth over the summer, and is looking for parent/community input.  She is open to ideas and the more creative the better!  If you have interest in getting involved, e-mail Alex at ahouston@wdsdvt.net

            Calling all hockey players!  Harwood Youth Hockey Registration will be on Wed, July 17th at 6PM at the Ice Center in Waterbury.  Online registration will also be available at harwoodhockey.org.  Registration is open to all hockey players, male and female, as well as new and experienced.  Ages range from the Learn to Skate level (age 4+) through Bantams (age 14).  Please visit the Harwood Hockey web site form more information.

            Summer Math Camp @ CBMS - There are still spots open for the summer math camp at CBMS, hosted by UVM sophomore Tegan Garon.  The camp is open to any incoming 6th, 7th, or 8th grader, of all levels mathematically.  The camp will run Monday June 24 to Friday June 28 from 10am to 12pm daily, and the cost is $75 for the entire week, which includes all materials.  The camp is going to be a lot of fun, and will allow students to practice various math skills with their peers, while also receiving one-on-one support from a college student who is majoring in math and education.  Please contact Tegan Garon ASAP at teags3@yahoo.com for more information.

            This Wednesday during last block we will be having an optional Brent McCoy Assembly in the gym. This opportunity is coming to us via Tobacco Grant monies.  Brent bills his act as "Comedy that Works", and he will be doing a workshop after school from 2:30-4:30.  Club Cougar students will be in this workshop, and we have room for 10 more students to join in the fun.  If your child is interested in participating in the workshop, please e-mail Tom Drake (tdrake@wdsdvt.net).  From his website - (http://brentmccoy.com/)- Brent McCoy is an internationally touring physical comedian who looks like a construction worker. With jaw-dropping technical skill and an amazing ability to connect with his audience, he is a hit with crowds around the planet.             SNEAK PEEKS - Incoming Gr. 4 and new students to CBMS are invited to tour the school Wednesday, June 19th from 4-6 PM, and Thursday, June 20th from 8-10 AM.  Great opportunity to become more familiar with the building and check out the lockers!

            Summer woodworking camp at CBMS!  Come learn a new craft and make some sawdust with us! In this class we will walk children through how to make several small woodworking projects using hand tools. Participants will learn how to layout, cut/shape, and assemble their projects. There will be no power tools in this class and no experience with hand tools is necessary. Instructor Stuart Cheney has a degree in Industrial Education from UVM and has 30+ years of experience as a woodworker. Sachi Hergesheimer is a Mechanical Engineer and has been woodworking for 9 years. Both are parents looking forward to sharing their excitement about woodworking with children.This class is scheduled from July 8-12, from 1:30-3:00 daily.  Cost is $100/student.             There will be a TBPS Community Ice Cream Social to say thanks and farewell to Don Schneider and Barbara Tomasi-Gay for their years of service to the Waterbury-Duxbury School Community. It will be held on Friday, June 21st on the TBPS Playground from 6:30-8PM. Everyone is welcome.

            Don't MIss It!  This Friday the Will Evans Band (Will is the former the lead singer of BAREFOOT TRUTH) will be performing at 1:30-2:15 for the students and AGAIN for a FREE concert as part of the Duxbury 250th Celebration!  PLEASE JOIN the festivities here at school!

            YEARBOOKS - Are here!  The 2013 yearbook will be handed out Monday, June 10 to those who pre-ordered before Feb. 28.  IT'S NOT TOO LATE if the students want to get one.  They can be ordered on Tues., June 11.  All pre-orders will be distributed on Wed., June 12.   IF there are any remaining, they will be for sale Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14.  For questions, please contact Tom Matt at tmatt@wdsdvt.net.  
            DRESS CODE - As the temperatures rise, please remind your student about our dress code.   No cleavage and shorts should be an appropriate length for school.
