Oct 17

A Hearty Cougar Kudos to Waterbury in Motion, Waterbury LEAP, Bill Minter and Duncan McDougall for their efforts and energies in making Bike and Roll to School Day a reality. Look for a repeat performance in the Spring, and let it roll and walk!

CBMS Trish Feld Library Volunteers- We need YOU! Contact Jen Hill (jehill@wwsu.org) if you can volunteer some time!

TODAY  Mike Vasseur, Harwood girls varsity soccer coach, has once again invited all of the girl players in the district in grades K-6 to join the varsity squad for a fun practice TODAY 4-5:30 p.m. at Harwood. Details: dress appropriately for the weather; wear shinguards and cleats; bring a water bottle. If anyone has extra size-4 balls to bring along, they would be appreciated too.  Many on the varsity team took part in these special practices when they were k-6 players. The h.s. girls set up a bunch of fun games and drills for the younger players. It’s loads of fun for the kids to take part and it’s a pretty impressive sight to see all of the young talent out there. They get a taste of the big field and get to imagine what it will be like to play there someday.

TODAY VOLLEYBALL!  Are you excited that there's now a high school volleyball team?  Come with us to watch a Harwood game TODAY (Friday, Oct 17th) at 5:30PM at Harwood Union High School.  And stay tuned for a CBMS pick-up volleyball club next spring (March timeframe).  Contact Maureen McCracken at maureenmccracken1@comcast.net for more info about the club or to coordinate a carpool (or a CBMS fan section?) for tonight's game!

Irish Session Class. Wednesdays 2:20-2:55. Tunes will be taught by ear. Recordings will be provided for reference. Students should be in Suzuki book 2 or equivalent. Violins and flutes especially but other instruments welcomed too. We will have some guests and we will take a field trip. Although it is preferred, it is not necessary to attend every session. Sponsored by The Vermont School of Irish Traditional Music.  For more information contact Annabel Moynihan almoynihan@comcast.net phone:  244-5965

Halloween Candy Donations: There will be a box for donations of Halloween Candy at both TBPS and CBMS starting Monday, Oct 20-thru the 31st. The Candy will be distributed to the homes on Elm, Randall and Park Row Streets to help reduce Candy costs. Thanks for helping out your neighbors!

Stowe Ski-Ride Program:  Anyone interested in either volunteering for the ski/ride program this year or having your child participate in the program please contact us at ski_ride@wwsu.org. Sign ups will officially begin next week. Leslie Proteau and Anne Latulippe, program coordinators.

Election Day in W'bury – Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  Once again could provide a big boost to the Waterbury Area Food Shelf! This is the time of the year when supplies are low and the need is increasing as cold weather approaches.  Polls are open from 7AM – 7PM.  Voting will take place in the gym at Thatcher Brook Primary School. As voters walk into the gym, volunteers will be there to collect canned goods, non-perishable food items or cash.  We appreciate and thank you for your help.  Mary Miller, Election Day Coordinator.
