Family in need!  The Calcagni family's house in Waterbury Center burned down on Dec 28th, and while thankfully no one was hurt in the fire, the house and all of the contents are a complete loss.  An account has been set up at TDBank where donations can be made to help the family during this difficult time. You can walk into any TDBank and make a deposit to this account number: TDBank Account Number: 5242583971.  Alternatively, you can mail checks directly to Michael Calcagni (Teo's brother) at P.O. Box 143 Stowe, VT 05672. Checks can be made out to Hilary Day and/or Teo Calcagni.  You can also call Michael directly at 253-4656 or 415-254-1507.

SOCRATES CAFÉ @ HUHST- Students in Katherine Cadwell’s Introduction to Philosophy class are once again hosting a Socrates Cafe on Thursday, January 8th in the Harwood Union  High School Library.  What is a Socrates Café, you might ask?  A Socrates Café is a gathering where people from different backgrounds get together and exchange thoughtful ideas and experiences while asking questions and having conversations about important philosophical issues.

The discussion on Thursday, January 8th has been organized and will be led exclusively by students in the Introduction to Philosophy class at Harwood.  Students, faculty, community   and school board members have been invited and will work together in small groups to discuss such questions as " Is it ever okay to lie?" "What are the qualities of a  hero?"' What is courage?" “ Can one ever be too curious?” and other timeless questions. Refreshments will be provided.  All interested parents and community members are invited! We hope that you will join us for a lively evening of discussion and dialogue.  For questions and more information, please contact Katherine Cadwell at kcadwell@wwsu.org
