Sept 11

Growth Mindset is a big theme of ours this year.   Learn more about what this is by clicking here

Back 2 School Night for all CBMS grades is Thursday, September 24th.  We have revised our approach to this night...no speed dating this time!  We are shooting to have 100% of our students represented!  The schedule is:

  • 5:30-6:30PM- Applied Academics (Art, French, General Music, Band, Chorus, Tech Ed, Sustainability, PE) teachers will be in their rooms and available to meet and discuss in an "Open House" format.  No formal presentations- simply drop in to all rooms or as many as you want
  • 6:30-6:40- Den Time, with your child's Den Leader
  • 6:40-7:30- Core Time on your child's Core Team. (note- some core teams may finish earlier as we have different numbers of teachers on the core teams)

Daily Den Announcements are on the CBMS Homepage, and are updated daily by 2PM.  Stay tuned in to the daily happenings at CBMS by visiting this site regularly.

Walk & Roll to School Day is this Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 AM at Rusty Parker Park.  Thanks in advance to Waterbury in Motion for sponsoring this event!

Timely Note:  Thanks for getting your learners to school on time, as classes begin at promptly at 7:45!

The Celebration of Life Service for Mandy (Drake) Morse will be happening in the CBMS gym on Monday, September 14th at 6PM.  All are welcome, and there will be a reception immediately following the service in the CBMS cafeteria.  Please note that this will be a very well-attended event, and carpooling would be appreciated.

CBMS After-School Program "Club Cougar" has a small number of openings.  This program is open from 2:30-5PM each school day.  $80/month.  For more information, contact Liza Commo- lcommo@wwsu.org

Changing The World, one project at a time!
  • Abby Colbert and Alex Pendo are organizing a Walk for Animals.  The animal walk is to raise money for the North Country Animal League. The walk will be held on Saturday, Sept 26, at 1:30PM, and will begin and end at Thatcher Brook Primary School. Please pick up a pledge form for donations which will be in the front office.
  • Cadance Hammond is going to do a coin drive for her hometown Randolph Fire Department because it was on fire and they need new equipment.  If you could bring in just coins that would be great. The jars for the coins will be in the front office soon.  Thank you!

CBMS Change #3- Music Block.  This year both band and chorus for grades 5-8 are happening in the middle of the day (versus the last block as it has been in the recent past).  We have been able to make this happen as a result of 3 lunch/recess blocks of 30-minutes each, one of which is the one for students involved in the music program.  This change has allowed for more time in both 5/6 and 7/8 band and chorus, and more flexibility within that block for Dan Liptak and Eileen Baker to flex groups as concerts approach.  The number of students in our music program is large, and thanks in advance for supporting music at CBMS!
