Help the CBMS Student Council to support Mandy Drake on her road to recovery! To help support Mrs. Drake, we are selling green wristbands that say “No One Fights Alone”. We will sell them until our supply runs out! Please bring two dollars to purchase your own. Two years ago Mrs.Drake suffered a stroke. Since then she has had multiple surgeries, one involved taking out a piece of her skull to allow her brain to swell during the healing process. Unfortunately, the surgeries were unsuccessful, and Mrs.Drake’s medical team identified that she was in need of a liver transplant. Mrs.Drake has been placed on the donor list, but the list is long. We are raising money to help out with the liver transplant, and all of the other expenses that go into it. The green wristbands are only two dollars and would be supporting not only a good cause, but also one of our own. So please, buy your wristbands. We will be selling them before AG, during some lunches, and Ms. Morse will have them available as well.

There are other ways to help this cause as well. Here is information from the Waterbury Fire Department:

Fundraising Dinner and Organ Donor Awareness for Mandy  Mandy Drake - Friend, mother, middle school teacher, triathlete and Waterbury Firefighter - needs our help! Two years ago Mandy suffered a brain bleed.  Shortly after her stroke she had to have surgery to remove part of her skull cap due to swelling.  Doctors have twice put the skull cap, (both her own and a prosthetic), back in and an infection resulted.   Prior to the third attempt it was determined that a lifelong liver disease that she has is the underlying cause of these infections.   Please support our drive to help financially assist potential live liver donors as well as raise organ donor awareness. We are having a Pasta Dinner on Friday evening June 5th,  with three seatings at 5, 6, and 7PM at the Main Street Fire Station, 43 South Main St. Waterbury, VT. $10 adult, $5 Student,  $25 family of four.
