Parents of 6th and 7th graders: Details on the 7th and 8th grade exchange with Harwood Union Middle School can be found by clicking here. Note the strict March 5th deadline for applying to the exchange.

Registration is now open for the middle level program for Girls on the Run called Heart and Sole.  The program will run from March 20 until the 5k in Essex on Saturday June 3.  The program runs ten weeks and we will meet Tuesday/Friday from 2:30 - 4:00.  Online registration is now open.  Space is limited and expected to fill fast. 

For those of you who have already registered, there was a mistake made with registration and participants will be reimbursed by Girls on the Run once we have all girls registered.  We apologize for any confusion and will let you know more about the reimbursement after vacation.  For those of you still registering, you will have to pay the full price based on your free and reduced lunch eligibility and you will be reimbursed by Heart and Sole in March.
  • Anticipated fee for participants eligible for free lunch: $10 ($20 due at registration)
  • Anticipated fee for participants eligible for reduced lunch: $35 ($50 due at registration)
  • Anticipated Regular fee: $75 ($100 due at registration)
  • The above fees include all 20 after school sessions, registration for 5k, and a t-shirt.

Spring sports registrations - HUMS Spring Sports meeting is Wednesday March 8 at 6:00 for all MS Track.   MS Track starts April 3.  Registrations will begin (through Family ID) on February 20. Info on signing up is at the end of this newsletter!

The HUUSD Budget Report Is Available - On June 7, 2016 voters in all of the school districts of the Washington West Supervisory Union (WWSU) voted to approve forming a Unified District, known as the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD). The HUUSD combines the school districts of Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren, Waterbury, Waterbury-Duxbury Union, and Harwood Union High School effective July 1, 2017.  In accordance with Article 9 of the HUUSD organizational meeting held on August 31, 2016, we are notifying you that the HUUSD Annual Report, which includes the proposed 2017-2018 school budget, is now available. The report is available online at Paper copies are available at any HUUSD school or town office. You may also request a copy by calling 802-496-2272 extension 111.  On March 7, 2017, the budget vote will be by Australian ballot in all six towns. The HUUSD school board will hold an annual meeting, which will include information about the budget, on March 6, 2017 at 6 PM at Harwood Union High School.

We are excited to announce that we are now offering the convenience of online Athletics and Activity registration through our partner company, FamilyID (  FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. When you register through FamilyID, the system keeps track of your information in your FamilyID profile so you enter your information only once for multiple uses, multiple family members and multiple programs.

Before any student can participate in athletic programs (including tryouts) the following requirements must be met:

• A copy of the student’s most recent physical, signed by a physician, must be on file prior to the first day of practice. Physicals expire 24 months from the date of the exam. Students with expired physicals will not be permitted to participate in practices or games until a new physical is turned in.

• The parents/guardians are responsible for filling out the online form completely and ensuring that any and all medical information concerning your child’s health, medical concerns, injuries, medications and allergies are reported to the Athletic Department & coaches

• ALL students participating in athletics or activities must provide proof of insurance. If you do not have insurance, contact Sue Duprat ( for information on how to obtain school insurance.


It will be helpful to have the following information handy to allow for accurate completion of your online registration.

• Your insurance information (Carrier, Policy number/Group Number)

• Names, phone number information for three (3) Emergency Contacts

A parent/guardian should register by clicking on this link: and following these steps:

1. Under the "Programs" title, click on the link for the program you want to sign up for. Scroll to bottom of page to either Sign Up as a Family or Individual if this is your first time using FamilyID, or Log In if you already have a FamilyID account.

2. Sign Up for your secure FamilyID account by entering your family name, email address and password. You will receive an email with a link to confirm your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your spam or junk folders.)

3. Click on the link in your email confirmation, which will log you in to FamilyID, and then complete the information requested on the registration form. When you have completed the form, click the "Save & Continue" button.

4. Review your registration summary and click "Confirm Registration" to submit. Once completed, you will receive an email receipt from You can also view your completed registration on your Dashboard. You can log into at any time to update your information and to check your registration(s).
