May 12

For 6th graders- this is the last FUN NIGHT at CBMS!
PERMISSION FORMS are required.  WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to bring sweet treats, healthy snacks, and drinks. We also need parent chaperones to make sure the night is safe and fun.  If you have questions, please email Kathleen Luce at

HERE is the link to complete an online permission form for your child to attend the final 5th/6th grade FUN NIGHT of the year hosted by the PTO on Friday, May 10th from 7-9 PM. )

HERE is a link for parents to sign up to volunteer on FUN NIGHT. We have needs for snacks and chaperones!

Yearbooks still for Sale (no personalization available)!  If you would like to reserve one, please contact Shannon Tremblay in the CBMS office- ot 244-6100.   Alternatively, please send in $30.00 payable to "CBMS" with your student's name in the memo line.

Bike and Ride to School Day- Wednesday, May 24th- meet at 7AM at Rusty Parker Park, and walkers and bikers will head out to CBMS by 7:10AM.  A great way to get the blood moving and get some exercise to start the day!  Snacks provided by Waterbury In Motion.

8th Grade Parents:  Dona Culver will be putting together this year's slide show for the 8th grade graduation. What she needs from you is:  3 photos - 1 current photo and 2 younger photos of your child. We would also like a short appropriate message to your 8th grader-  20 words or less, please. Submit your quote here.  (note to Prodigy parents - this is a separate slide show than the Prodigy dinner)

If your child is balking at bringing in those embarrassing shots, you can give them directly to Dona, but please make sure to identify the photos. Ideally, your photos would be in digital form, but hard copies are okay too. You can email them to Dona at  Dona would like the photos asap - by May 26th at the latest.

OM Bottle Drive continues: If you missed Saturday’s bottle drive to support Odyssey of the Mind, you can still drop off redeemable bottles and cans in the big blue barrels by the parent loop at Crossett Brook Middle School. They will be there for a few more weeks. Thank you in advance for all of the donations!

Ponderable:  “Stop asking a young person WHAT you want to be when you grow up. It freezes their identity into a job that may not be there. Ask them HOW you want to be when you grow up. Having an agile learning mind-set will be the new skill set of the 21st century.”  from "Owning Your Own Future" (New York Times- May 10, 2017)
