5th and 6th graders have Ecology Week from April 3rd to April 6th this coming Spring.  All students will be able to go to the Ferry Beach Ecology School in Saco, Maine, and there will also be a day-tripping group heading to the Audubon Center in Huntington.  For your calendars- Ecology Week Parent Info meeting- Thursday, January 25th- 6:30-7:30pm

Brainado strikes again! When Crossett Brook student Connor wanted to learn small engine repair, the school helped him connect with local professional mechanic Albert J. Caron. But as Connor's knowledge about engines grew, so did other skills that support his learning, and Connor was able to obtain a summer job at Caron's shop. Community mentors like professional Caron can offer so much in terms of reinforcing, expanding, and grounding the most important learning that goes on in schools. At CBMS our 5/6 Health Education program includes a few Puberty Education lessons to 5th and 6th graders towards the end of the school year.  The following links are great resources for families to use in the meantime.

The Cougar Co-Op Leadership Team is almost ready to launch a new line of products including bath bombs, local beeswax lip balm, soda tab belts, hand crafted earrings, reusable bags and beeswax sandwich wraps.  We also have a new website which allows online sales and credit card payments. Keep us in mind this holiday season….many great stocking stuffers available!  Stay tuned for more info on how to order these student crafted, sustainably sourced gifts.  And remember...all profits support local charities like the Duxbury Elf Shelf, CLiF, and Toys for Tots!
