Heart & Sole is coming to CBMS.  5th - 8th grade girls are invited to participate in an after school program like no other.  Girls will work together to train for a 5k run in June while doing activities and games that will build confidence, celebrate our strengths, and just have fun.  Heart & Sole will meet Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:35 - 4:15, starting March 30.  This program will not interfere with the Stowe program or the musical. REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 19.  Click here for more information and details on registering.

Vaping and Smoking - A recently released comprehensive public health review found that while e-cigarettes could assist adults in quitting tobacco, for adolescents and young adults, the use of e-cigarettes is actually linked to the use of other tobacco products such as cigarettes. "We found that kids who tried e-cigarettes, hookah, or smokeless tobacco or cigars — any non-cigarette tobacco product — were all twice as likely to try cigarettes a year later, compared to kids who hadn't used any of those other tobacco products," says Shannon Lea Watkins, a public policy researcher at University of California, San Francisco. Watkins and her colleagues also found that the effects of using non-cigarette products compound: "Kids using two or more non-cigarette products were four times as likely to report using cigarettes a year later."
