Attention Parents of 7th Graders - Our yearly Lift-Up Letter Project is upon us! Please take a few moments to read this information to learn more about our letter writing project for this year's 7th-grade students. Letters are due in late April, but the details of the project need your attention now. Thanks for taking the time to participate, and for encouraging your family members and those close to your 7th-grader, to do so as well. Letter to Parents 2018 Jen Hempey, School Counselor

HUUSD REDESIGN Q&A MARCH 14How can we have healthy class sizes to improve quality but also allow us to plan more predictably and save money? Do we need to combine grades that are currently in different buildings? What are the implications of closing a school? Can we take advantage of efficiencies or cohort grouping to support more opportunities in and out of the classroom? What are the key drivers to providing excellent education and lowering costs? These are the questions of school redesign.

The HUUSD board has already started exploring some of these questions but is in the very early stages of the process. Although we have not even finalized a timeline, we are holding a public Q&A session on Wednesday, March 14 as part of our commitment to engaging the public early and often.

Come find out some of the information we have explored to date and what our next steps are. Please also come with your ideas for saving money, improving quality and/or equity, and for supporting healthy community conversations as we progress through the process.

The Children's Room is conducting an impact study and we need your help in our quest to understand the importance of what we do, where we are successful, and where we need to improve. With Act 46 consolidation, we need to evaluate our role in all six communities, and how we might increase our impact in a positive way to as many families as possible. We are looking to hear from current and alumni room users and people who have never used our room or services. Please help us understand how we have impacted our area and what we can do to improve our services. We appreciate your time!   Phillips Consulting has offered their services to help us with an impact study. Part of this study entails this survey. We are asking you to take about 10 minutes of your time to fill out the survey. Please share it with your friends and neighbors.   We have enjoyed 35 years of community support, and we are looking for the best way to continue to serve our families and the future generations of families in our area. Thank you in advance for your input and assistance.  Click here for the survey.
